Euclidean rhythms are a beautifully simple way of using numerical parameters to define many rhythmic patterns common in music around the world. A basic Euclidean rhythm is expressed as a length of steps, and number of events divided between these steps. When the length number is not evenly divisible by the step number you get interesting syncopated rhythms

Constellation introduces several more useful parameters to Euclidean pattern generation including clock division, pattern rotation, burst, ratchet and probability. These allow for musically dynamic rhythms with periods of sparse and dense activity

Constellation has a flexible clock system where each pattern follows it’s channel’s clock, and each channel clock follows the main clock. Each channel clock can be a unique multiplication and division of the main clock allowing for true polyrhythmic output
